Software Engineer
My client is an exciting biotechnology start-up that is setting the pace in genomic analysis with its chip designs and DNA analysis concepts. They are adding several scientists to their staff. A key to their technology will be the development of new nano chip analysis and reagents. They will need scientists with experience developing software to analyze the hybridization patterns and fluorescent output from their chips.
This is a great opportunity to get in with a start-up with the potential to revolutionize genetic analysis. If you have experience in optical imaging and you understand the basics of bioinformatics and genomic analysis you may be a fit for one of these positions.
Position Responsibilities include :
· Position #1
· Design, development and maintenance of a software suite for optical genome mapping, including data compression, visualization and data mining
· Position #2
· Design and development of an inference-based system used for assembly and quantitative evaluation (scoring) of molecules imaged by fluorescence
Must Have:
· BS/MS/PhD levels considered in Computer Science, Physics, or Applied Mathematics, Bioinformatics
· 3 to 5 years of industry experience as a Software Engineer
· Expert in C/C++, Java, .Net and SQL
· Software Architecture and Design
· .Net platform development - Windows
· Strong understanding of the iterative software development process
Preferences:
· Experience with biological databases, data analysis and visualization software in genomics
· Experience with Data compression Algorithms
· Independent development experience
