Executive Director- Fossil Generation (Palo Alto, CA or Charlotte, NC) EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA). EPRI uses the system to check the work status of new hires by comparing information from the employee's I-9 form against SSA and Department of Homeland Security databases. Provide guidance in domestic strategy development and business relations for our Fossil Generation business. Serves as EPRI’s representative to various domestic utilities and related entities. Responsible for growth of EPRI’s Fossil Generationbusiness. Manages a diverse and remote account team and must establish and apply a technology transfer model which is regionally sensitive, applicable and meets the customers and EPRI’s goals.
Job Functions:
• Serves as primary contact for Fossil Generation domestic utilities. Develops, implements and maintains business strategies and marketing plans for our Fossil Generation business.
• Works closely with EPRI Sector leadership team to develop and engage customers.
• Working with the EPRI leadership team(s), develop, establish and communicate multi-year and annual operating plan.
• Identify emerging fossil generation and environmental issues for EPRI and clients, working with technical/scientific staff to develop new business opportunities to address those issues.
• Establish and manage budgets to plan.
• Manages Account Executives in sales planning, plan execution and customer service.
• Identify sector and technology platforms to be sold and developed.
• Drive strategic relationships with EPRI’s members and partners in order to maximize participation at all levels in EPRI’s business model.
• Work closely with EPRI’s executive staff in identifying and driving an international connection in the development of the EPRI technical portfolio.
Ideal Candidate:
• Must have held a management, sales or business development role in a growing US market, preferably energy-related.
• Have demonstrated a track record of achieving growth in such a market.
• To have a demonstrable track record in growing and developing a region or sales territory.
• Proven success in managing, motivating and developing a team of Account Executives and operational professionals.
• The ability to assimilate the technicalities of the Fossil Generation industry and to talk authoritatively to stakeholders on EPRI’s research and capabilities.
• The ability to develop and deliver presentations to a wide range of stakeholders.
• The ability to build an extensive network in the worldwide Fossil Generation industry
• Requires at least 10 years of senior management experience including 5 years of direct sales management experience in the energy industry or related science and technology solution sales.
• Strong leadership skills, mentoring and coaching capabilities and people motivation with a determined and energetic style.

Education Level and Years of Experience:
• Technical undergraduate degree required. MBA or advanced marketing degree preferred.
