Life Technologies has an opportunity available for a talented Executive Assistant to support our Chief of Staff at our Foster City, California Location.

Essential Functions

Assist and support the Chief of Staff and her Integration Lead person by performing various complex administrative functions. Perform advanced word processing and desktop publishing to include presentations, reports, spreadsheets and graphs; transcribe information of a technical, confidential and/or sensitive nature; may be required to take meeting and/or conference call minutes. Collects and prepares information for use in discussions/meetings of division staff and outside individuals.


Draft, review and/or edit written material to ensure accuracy, neatness, correct punctuation and grammar; recommend changes to improve readability and clarity.


Research, compile, summarize, and analyze information to formulate correspondence and respond

to various inquiries from internal and external customers. Utilize company personnel at all organizational

 levels to gather information to prepare reports.

Screen mail and callers, respond to and route inquiries to appropriate personnel as necessary; determine

 importance and priority of various issues and determine what major issues should be brought to the

 attention of the Chief of Staff.

Coordinate, assist in planning, prepare agenda and monitor meetings; maintain heavy calendar(s) and

 travel requests.

Handle highly confidential, sensitive and/or critical information, files, records and reports.

Actively promote and ensure clear communication throughout the various departments of the company.

Manage and coordinate projects and programs to ensure high quality end results within given timeframe.

 

Help support projects such as market research and analysis.  Provide support on integration activity.

May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business or similar discipline, or the equivalent knowledge and experience required.

Office/secretarial certification is preferred.

Experience Requirements:
Requires a minimum of 6+ years of related specialized administrative experience, including successful

 experience working with senior level executives. Must demonstrate exceptional computer skills and software

 application proficiency.  Strong MS- PowerPoint experience is required.

 

Demonstrated ability to read difficult instructions and maintain written records is required.

Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Must be able to interface effectively within all levels

of the organization and with senior executives outside the company.

This position is located in Foster City, CA    Relocation benefits will not be offered.
