Executive Assistant To CEO - FT - Days

Saint Joseph's facility is Atlanta's oldest hospital. Today, the 410-bed, acute-care facility is recognized as one of the top specialty-referral hospitals in the Southeast. Saint Joseph's has received numerous awards including the distinguished Magnet Recognition for Nursing Excellence from the American Nurses Association Credentialing Center; a designation of best in Georgia and top five percent in the nation for cardiac and vascular programs.

The Executive Assistant provides administrative support for the President and Chief Executive Officer and Chief Mission Officer of Saint Joseph's Health System. Independently responds to routine correspondence. Formats and types correspondence, forms and reports for CEO. Plans, organizes and implements special projects such as conferences, seminars, receptions and retreats. Handles all complaints to ensure appropriate responses. Coordinates activities for both the Saint Joseph's Health System, Hospital, Foundation and Service Corporation Boards such as retreats, holiday events and special called meetings. Attends to SJHS Board committee meetings, including board development activities and new board member orientation. Records minutes for meetings. Effective interaction/communication with board members. Coordinates very complex daily appointment/meeting schedules. Responsible for agenda development process for various administrative meetings. Coordinates travel arrangements for CEO as well as members of senior management and board of directors, including group travel. Directly supervises receptionist/department secretary, oversees and approves payroll, participates in interviews and selection of staff for office support. Maintains departmental files.

The ideal candidate will be a High school graduate or equivalent with additional education in transcription, computers, word processing, and Business English. The equivalent of one to two years of college or business school is preferred. CPS designation desirable. Minimum of five years as executive secretarial/administrative assistant with at least two years of this experience reporting to a corporate/company officer. Experience in hospital setting is preferred. Office management skills necessary. Exceptional secretarial skills to include the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
