Job Description

Executive Campus Director - Portland

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall development and execution of the College's programs at an assigned campus, within the policy direction of the Executive Council. The Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of all campus operations, including the control, utilization, and conservation of its physical and financial assets; the recruitment and direction of staff; and leadership in all areas of management, marketing, and program operations.

  • Works with the Director of Academic Development and the College President to develop College programs to increase student enrollment and earned income.
  • Maintains contact with public and private agencies and local professional groups.
  • Serves as a spokesperson for the campus in the business community, with local employers, and with appropriate labor and professional associations.
  • Works closely with the College President, other administration, and staff to establish short and long-range goals and takes responsibility for implementing approved goals and plans at the assigned site.
  • Manages medium and long-term site and facilities planning, including anticipation of equipment and facility improvement/expansion needs.
  • Ensures, within limits established by the Executive Council, that the campus and its various programs undergo regular evaluation, growth, and development, including review for potential new programs.
  • Considers, evaluates, and institutes, with Executive Council and Governing Board approval, new/leading edge programs and practices.
  • Provides administrative direction over all campus-wide programs and services.
  • Develops and maintains high standards of professional practices and employs, directs, and maintains qualified personnel to meet the service goals and needs of the campus.
  • Works to improve the quality and quantity of services offered.
  • Develops the campus operating budget and manages campus operations efficiently within the parameters of the approved budget.
  • Helps to direct the preparation of annual and multi-year budget projections for the campus and its programs.
  • Works with staff to develop and/or maintain the College's system of accounting and financial reporting.
  • Examines the effectiveness and efficiency of the utilization of campus resources.
  • Establishes and develops operational policies and procedures to improve technical and administrative functions.
  • Serves as the final recourse for student and staff complaints on campus.
  • Communicates with administrative support staff, student, and teaching personnel on a regular basis.
  • Provides direction for staff training and development programs to enhance individual and organizational abilities.
  • Meets with individual departments/employees regularly and with all employees as a group, at least semi-annually.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelors Degree (Masters preferred).
  • 3 years administrative management experience in private postsecondary education.
  • Skills in both verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrate problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to plan for growth by managing recruiting efforts.
  • Ability to motivate others; strong communication skills.
  • Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
