This is an in-house recruitment for the Executive Director of Booth Memorial Youth and Family Services and Cares for Kids crisis nursery.

PURPOSE: The Executive Director is responsible to the Divisional Social Services Secretary for oversight and direction of Booth Memorial and TSA Cares for Kids, including both residential and outpatient services, in a manner that effectively utilizes these resources and meets all contractual requirements as well as the needs of program clients. The Executive Director provides mental health, substance abuse, and child care services by planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating treatment delivery programs and operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Master’s degree with major study in social work or a closely related field and one year experience in the care and treatment of children; or, a bachelor’s degree with a major study in social work, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field and two years’ experience in the care and treatment of children
· Knowledge of mental health, substance abuse, and dual diagnosis treatment philosophies and modalities required.
· Knowledge of federal, state, and local residential child care facility, mental health, substance abuse, and dual diagnosis statutes and regulations; community resources; and social service programs.
· Experience in grant writing and budget preparation.
· Demonstrated appropriate decision making skills without direct supervision at all times.
· Demonstrated skill in communication with the mentally ill, disabled, and those who use English as a second language.
· Demonstrated accomplishment of program goals.
· Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively.
· Knowledge of computers, data entry, word processing, and spreadsheet
· Ability to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and support personnel.
· Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
· Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing personnel administration and government funding.
· Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures that are necessary to maintain a sound organization.
· Willing to work more than 40 hours per week as needed.
· Must possess a valid Alaska driver’s license and have access to an automobile for use on the job.
· Willing to submit to and ability to “pass” a criminal background check.
