This individual will support Holley Performance Products by participating in the design of new and improved exhaust systems products such as headers, mufflers, and exhaust pipes, with a high level of independent thought and initiative and a moderate level of supervision. This position involves significant complex individual effort and a high level of documentation skills.
Education, Experience, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
¨ A Bachelor of Science degree (MS: ME) and a minimum of 3 to 7 years closely related job experience in a product engineering environment.
¨ Machining, welding, and fabrication skills a must.
¨ Must have knowledge of metals and tube bending.
¨ Experience in ProE Wildfire and/or Solidworks, Approx. 2000 hrs.
¨ Broad knowledge in different materials for manufacturing and manufacturing processes.
¨ Some background in lean manufacturing/ six sigma processes.
¨ Capable of utilizing the latest computer software available for the analysis and modeling of various physical systems.
Position responsibilities include:
¨ Working and leadership role in exhaust system new product development programs from the company new product schedule as it relates to aftermarket exhaust applications including product design, development, adherence to timelines, cost constraints, manufacturability, and working with vendors.
¨ Is responsible for designing, procuring and inspection of all prototype hardware to support new product programs including vendor selection and communication. This includes the appropriate management and utilization of rapid prototype techniques.
¨ Provides accurate and well documented and readable analysis and calculations performed in the course of project work and manufacturing support. Subjects include but are not limited to stress, dynamics, fatigue, flow and heat transfer analysis.
