This position reports directly to the President, who acts as sales manager. It is a full time position with the primary responsibility of sales of the company’s products and services in a business to business environment, including, but not limited to, the following activities:
Proactive telemarketing of prospective and assigned customers
Proactive use of marketing resources to obtain new business (direct mail, e-marketing, networking, etc.)
Obtain appointments (at showroom or off site) and conduct discovery to assess needs of prospective and existing customers
Create and present quotes to propose the acquisition of our products and services, using company-provided software
When sales are closed, manage the projects by authoring orders, supervising design work if any, handling customer interface, and working with other departments to insure a smooth workflow
Following sales activity, proactively work with departments as needed to resolve customer issues, i.e. product returns, collections, etc.
Participate in sales training as offered by the company, some of which will be located in Eagan, MN. Regularly study and learn all aspects of the company’s products and services, using promotional literature and online training tools.
Requirements/skills:
Education: Minimum BA or BS degree from an accredited 4-year college, preferably with a major in advertising, communications, marketing or similar
Technology: Must be proficient with general use PC software, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Familiarity with a CRM software helpful.
Communications: Must have excellent written and verbal skills
Organization: Must be highly organized, able to meet challenging deadlines, able to multi-task.
Business Acumen: Must be able to assess the needs and objectives of prospects and customers through the ability to ask the right questions and understanding enough about that particular business to offer the right solutions.
Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to successfully work with a variety of personalities, internal and external – must be a team player.
Attitude: Positive attitude required . . . attitude is everything!
Initiative: Must possess a high level of initiative and motivation.
Compensation:
Exhibit consultants in the first year are paid a base salary plus a percentage commission on the profit margin on their sales. Following the first 12 months of employment, all compensation is based on a commission on the profit margin of sales. Commissions are paid out every two weeks on projects which are completed, delivered and paid in full.
Benefits:
Medical plan (PPO or HMO) – company pays 50% of the premiums for employees. 401K – company does not contribute but administrates the program for employees.
Full time employees earn two weeks of paid vacation for each 12 months of employment.
