Electronics Technician
A National Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electronics Technician. This technician must be able to work independently, and have strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will have knowledge of operating systems; basic knowledge of Unix and Linux preferred. The following is brief job description:
Basic Requirements
· Must have a proven record working in a professional environment, interacting with customers, or end users.
· Ability to troubleshoot down to the component level.
· Proven soldering skills.
· Ability to read and comprehend schematics.
· Ability to define and document rework processes.
· Ability to troubleshoot down to the sub-assembly level.
· Practical understanding of basic electronics. Basic analog and digital electronics knowledge.
· Ability to setup and use key test equipment – logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, volt-meters, pulse generators, frequency counters etc.
· Ability to perform mechanical assembly and take mechanical measurements.
· Solid understanding of computer architecture.
· Ability to assemble computer system
· Ability to install OS on systems
· Familiarity with UNIX operating system administration.
· Basic theoretical understanding of scientific and engineering theory.
· Ability to develop new processes.
In addition to the above requirements the following knowledge is strongly desired.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware failures in computer equipment to root cause. (As opposed to troubleshooting down to the assembly level.)
- Ability to troubleshoot software/firmware failures in computer equipment.
- Ability to understand test setup instructions.
- Ability to document and communicate test results using established software tools and processes.
- Ability to perform tasks in an unsupervised environment.
