Responsible for overall availability of databases and associated systems, using currently available commercial enterprise relational database management systems.Effectively uses database replication, security, and availability solutions in designing and implementing Database solutions.Must be able to use platform-specific, as well as enterprise, monitoring tools to provide fault and pre-fault performance notifications.Provides platform-specific performance tuning, installation and configuration guidance and expertise.Monitors and manages back-up and recovery, and capacity planning for all Database platforms.
Utilizes currently available commercial enterprise relational database management systems
Effectively uses database replication, security and availability solutions
Effectively uses platform-specific, as well as enterprise, monitoring tools to provide fault and pre-fault performance notifications
Provides platform-specific performance tuning, installation and configuration
Monitors and manages back-up and recovery as well as capacity planning for all Database platforms
Works with management, peers and vendors to design and implement hardware/software configurations, logical models, operational management models and business continuity plans for systems under management
Works with management, peers and vendors to provide ongoing monitoring, performance tuning, implementation and fault root cause analysis
Creates design, troubleshooting and operational documentation for all systems under management
Authors and peer-reviews knowledgebase articles documenting fault root causes and their respective resolutions
Provides and receives cross-discipline training in order to ensure maximum availability of systems under management
Carries and responds to off-hours communications device in order to provide 24x7 support
Actively pursues opportunities, as an individual and as part of a group, to improve knowledge, tools and processes
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides enterprise wide support as needed
Enforces the privacy rules pursuant to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
Provides on-call 24/7 production support for designated systems
Participates in, and complies with, Mohegan Sun’s Change Management process and methodology
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
Bachelors’ Degree plus two years of experience providing support of Enterprise Relational Database Management systems for a corporation of at least 2,000 employees and with at least 2 enterprise database platforms (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, DB2)
Demonstrable knowledge of SQL scripting language
Obtains and maintains at least one or more applicable gaming licenses in multiple jurisdictions

Associate’s Degree plus six years of progressive Information Systems experience
Three years of experience providing support of Enterprise Relational Database Management systems for a corporation of at least 2,000 employees and with at least 2 enterprise database platforms (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, DB2)
Demonstrable knowledge of SQL scripting language
Obtains and maintains at least one or more applicable gaming licenses in multiple jurisdictions

High School Diploma or GED plus ten years of progressive Information Systems experience
Four years of experience providing support of Enterprise Relational Database Management systems for a corporation of at least 2,000 employees and with at least 2 enterprise database platforms (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, DB2)
Demonstrable knowledge of SQL scripting language
Obtains and maintains at least one or more applicable gaming licenses in multiple jurisdictions
