SUMMARY
The Export Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring worldwide company import/export compliance with all applicable trade control and customs issues worldwide. As well as determining requirements of exporting dual use articles and services under Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), U.S. Custom Regulations, other trade regulations and provide guidance to international logistics on regulatory requirements. The Export Compliance Manager will also assist in developing, implementing and managing global compliance program, including training, policies, guidelines and procedures for business worldwide.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Preparing, submitting and monitoring status of license applications, Technical Assistance Agreements, Commodity Jurisdiction and Classification Requests, and other requests for approval to the Office of Defense Trade Controls, U.S. Dept. of State: the Bureau of Industry and Security, U. S. Department of Commerce: and the Office of Foreign Assets Controls, U. S Department of the Treasury
· Ensuring program integrates with human resources, information technology and other departmental procedures to assure conformity to processes worldwide.
· Identifying areas of trade compliance risks, conduct risk assessments and develops action plans to eliminate and/or mitigate risks
· Managing compliance audit and investigations and implement and necessary corrective action
· Serving as corporate liaison with U. S. Government agencies and as an Empowered Official for the Company
· Manage and retain export and import records in accordance with applicable laws and regulation
· Issue customs broker and freight forwarder powers of attorney, as well as conduct pre/post export and import compliance reviews and manage customs brokers/freight forwarders to ensure that export and import documentation is completed properly on a consistent basis
REQUIREMENTS
· Experience in when to utilize license exceptions, and completing compliant export/import shipping documents
· Knowledge of Customs entry summaries, Customs classification issues: Customs compliance procedures
· Frequent travel in order to provide training, conduct audits, or investigate possible violations
