A Sunnyvale high-tech company is looking for an External Reporting Manager.
External Reporting Manager
Sunnyvale, CA
Responsibilities:
- Proactively plan and lead the external financial reporting team including hands-on involvement in the process - includes responsibility for preparation of Form 10-Qs, 10-Ks, benefit plans, various government reports, etc.
- Work closely with technical accounting team members, legal department, various Finance teams including CFO staff members and external auditors, E&Y, on the preparation of external reports
- Coordinate with various functional areas such as Stock Administration, Tax, Treasury, Business Unit and Manufacturing Finance, etc. to gather information for external reporting purposes
- Lead role in the preparation for quarterly earnings release - work closely with the investor relations department
- Responsible for periodic reporting including the Executive Package and monthly CFO financial reviews
- Lead role for SOX 404 program management for Corporate Accounting organization
- Hire, manage and develop accountants/team and manage the day-to-day operations of the external reporting function (4 direct reports including one analyst located in Austin, TX)
- Take an active/lead role within the Corporate Accounting team to drive goal achievement and process improvement
- Perform ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting or equivalent
- CPA and MBA preferred
- Minimum of 7-10 years experience - prior SEC reporting experience and preferably managerial experience in a global fast-paced competitive high-tech environment
- Leader who can see the 'big-picture' while being willing and able to dive into the details to quickly resolve open items
- Flexibility in work schedule is required
- Strong technical accounting, analytical and managerial skills
- The ability to prioritize workload for self and team and work under time constraints
- Enthusiastic, proactive and dynamic individual with the ability to work in teams and with all levels of an organization as well as work independently
- Ability to build relationships and influence individuals and organizations other than own
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Capability to grow within the position and in the future rotate to other Finance leadership positions
