Overview
This position is a key support position within the controller's department at Goodrich (CHQ). The position is primarily responsible for the accounting and analysis of share based compensation. Other activities include preparing and analyzing financial information that will be used in the Company's filings with the SEC and other U.S. government agencies. This position also has a considerable amount of interaction with finance, human resources, legal and tax personnel across the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
Account, analyze, forecast, reconcile, document and present to management all accounts associated with the following significant programs: stock options, restricted stock units, employee stock purchase plan and board of directors' plans.
Understand and interpret the legal documents and other documentation associated with these programs.
Research U.S. GAAP and related literature, interpreting complex accounting standards (SFAS 123(R). Monitor the development of U.S. GAAP and international standards related to share based compensation matters and make verbal and written recommendations on the accounting and present the analysis of the implications to management.
Support both the internal and external audits of the share based compensation plans and the related accounting.
Ensure that appropriate controls are maintained over the data and calculations/analysis in order to meet SOX 404 requirements.
Prepare and analyze financial statements used in SEC filings, including quarterly 10-Q filings, annual 10-k filings, and transaction related filings. This will involve coordinating the collection of information from the SBUs and other functions at corporate, including external service providers. This also involves educating the SBUs and others regarding the various forms utilized to collect this information.
Manage ERISA financial statement process.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
Four Year Degree (in accounting, finance, or business administration required) Master's Degree strongly preferred CPA Certification required Two to four years of related experience in public and/or industry accounting is required Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of the company are required Strong GAAP/SEC knowledge Proficiency with PC productivity tools (Microsoft Office) is required Strong understanding of consolidations systems a plus (HFM preferred) Well-organized and able to work in a deadline-oriented environment is required In-depth understanding of financial statements & core accounting concepts Strong written, verbal,and oral communication skills Strong spreadsheet skills/financial systems experience Strong analytical skills Capable of working in a deadline-oriented environment EOE D/M/F/V
