Software Engineer
Contribute as a Java developer to the Central Altitude Reservation Function (CARF) component within the FAA Aeronautic Information Management (AIM) system modernization project. Work on an Integration Project Team with other developers employed by teaming partner (ITT), and in coordination and cooperation with ITT lead engineer/architect, to perform the following tasks:
1. Support the design phase and help on developing all products required, e.g., architecture design, component design, interfaces design, etc.
2. Support the implementation phase; write code and documentation as directed by the team lead
3. Support integration phase; support the integration of all modules
4. Support the testing and validation phase; create test case scenarios and document results
5. Support the deployment phase of the system. Help with installing and training the system at the customer location in Herndon, VA
6. Support the maintenance phase. Help with software fixes/upgrades and any support as required by the customer
Candidates must have at least six (6) to eight (8) years of engineering professional work experience in information technology. Information technology experience must include performance of complex tasking involving some or all of the following: information technology system engineering; information technology system development and integration; information technology implementation; and business process reengineering.
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related discipline is required. Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, physics, or other highly analytical field may qualify. Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (85-p) Clearance, approved by the FAA.
