MAINTENANCE FACILITY TECHNICIAN Charlotte, NC, Area Competitive Wages & Company Vehicle Old Country Buffet, one of the nation's leading restaurant groups and America's favorite buffet, is currently seeking a self-motivated individual to perform routine maintenance of restaurant equipment at our restaurants.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Maintains, repairs and cleans mechanical areas and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained restaurant.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for keeping restaurant equipment in good repair. Will examine the equipment for defects in operation, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Responsible for administering Preventive Maintenance Program.
  • Responsible for light, electrical and plumbing repairs.
  • Responsible for minor painting, caulking, wall-covering, tile repair and light carpentry.
  • Responsible for insuring that all maintenance issues are addressed in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Responsible for obtaining information to determine project costs to obtain approval or the requisition of materials.
  • Performs special projects and mandated by business needs and supervisor, e.g. interact with subcontractors.
  • Responsible for performing all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school education preferred, however, any combination of education, training, or experience, which Provides the necessary knowledge, skills and ability is acceptable.
  • Must maintain a valid driver?s license.
  • Must hold a Type 1 and Type 2 or Universal Refrigeration Transition and Recovery Certification (EPA).
  • Prior restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of painting or redecorating walls, woodwork and fixtures, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow basic instructions in written, oral and diagram from, so as to fully comprehend job requests, caution notices, and other important details.
  • Physical demands of this position my include working in hot, cold or wet conditions; ability to bend, knell, craw and climb on all types of surfaces; ability to lift up to 75lbs; ability to climb ladders, and equipment up to 32 ft. high; ability to grasp, lift and have sufficient finger dexterity to hold tools; perform duties in confined spaces and awkward positions.
  • Other desirable skills include ability to prioritize tasks, sense of urgency, and being a team player.
