FIELD OPERATIONS MANAGER

We are looking for a seasoned self-motivated and detail-oriented FIELD OPERATIONS MANAGER to join our team.  This opportunity will be awarded to the candidate who is a driven leader, is proactive and a motivated self starter who pushes to accomplish team and company objectives.


 




Job Description


The Field Operations Manager will coordinate the activities of field operations ensuring work performed is high quality, profitable and cost effective.  The Field Operations Manager will report directly to the Operations manager and the scope of responsibility will include:




  • Ensure management of direct labor force of the company through the Crew Leaders by providing guidance, training and leadership.  This includes training, scheduling, establishing goals, executing measurements and performing evaluations. Develop and maintain operational processes resulting in efficient work performance to client satisfaction and company goals and objectives. 






  • Ensure field operations performance maintains productive and efficient quality of work which meets or exceeds company standards and objectives.  Maintain high morale and provide safe working conditions for all employees.



  • Schedule and direct through Project Coordinators and Crew Leaders activities of the direct labor force (including contract or casual labor) and equipment resources to maintain performance in terms of quantity, quality and cost effectiveness. Ensure equipment, material and supplies availability to crews by providing for maintenance, repair, inventory and needed procurement or disposal.



  • Enforce Federal (OSHA), State, local and company safety policies, rules and regulations.



  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with clients. Resolve complaints or claims as soon as possible to the benefit of all parties.



  • Review weekly or as needed with appropriate managers; cost, profit and expense controls requiring implementation.



  • Ensure reports prepared by subordinates are accurate and complete.



  • Establish and maintain excellent communication with company team members (i.e., Sales, Administration, etc).



  • Enhance the Specialized Services Group image and reputation by exercising sound, ethical business practices in client, employees, subcontractors, suppliers, etc. relations. 



  • Implement and maintain security procedures to protect company assets at the facility or job site; and in vehicles, equipment or anywhere Specialized Services Group assets are located.



  • To oversee compliance in project implementations in a manner which is comprehensive, responsive, efficient, legal, and innovative while maintaining core values and fiscal integrity company.



  • Attend project meetings to collect, disseminate and coordinate information pertaining to projects, and specifications review and resolution between/within the company and the client.  Monitor program activity to achieve an “on-time” result including follow-up with external vendors to ensure a timely response to action items. Monitor program cost activity to achieve an “in budget”



 


 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


 



  • Thorough understanding of company core values and the ability to consistently perform within the guidelines.
  • Thorough understanding of construction industry practices, processes, standards, etc., and their impact on project activities. 
  • Ability to read construction documents and specification manuals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with skills in negotiating, writing and interpreting contractual agreements. 
  • Willingness to be a member of a dedicated team.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in working with computers and other types of technology.
  • Satisfactory driving record per company’s insurance provider.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift a minimum of fifty pounds.
