The position will be responsible for implementation and overseeing of all operation procedures for Foreign Exchange back-office operations.  These functions include balancing Nostro and Vostro ledgers, cash and trade reconciliation with prime broker, rollovers and cashiering.  Coordination of activities with trade desk will include margin and balancing exceptions.  The position will also coordinate with other areas of the company that include account opening procedures, accounting and commission accrual and set-up.  Critical deadlines for daily work will need to be established.

This position will also be responsible for the migration of accounts from another operating environment where the firm currently acts as an “introducing broker”, to one where the firm will act as principal to its customers and have accounts held directly on the firms books.  This will correspond with the implementation of a new processing environment that will be installed by a third party.

This is a “hands on” position where most of the operations will need to be performed by the individual.  Possibility for growth and staff additions will be dictated by volume of business  and necessity.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Daily balancing of customer and house positions

·         Reconciliation of nostro and vostro ledger balances

·         Rollover configuration

·         Closeout of residual currency balances

·         Daily balancing of suspense and fail to receive or deliver amounts

·         Cashiering activity coordination for customer receipts and disbursements

·         Cashiering activity for bank balances

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

·         Familiarity with FNX (“Sierra”) back-office processing systems

·         Familiarity with Citibank foreign exchange Prime Brokerage systems

·         Familiarity with Currenex trade reporting

·         Must be detail and deadline oriented

·         Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

·         3-5 years foreign exchange clearance experience in high volume environment, preferably within “non-bank” trading operation

·         Experience dealing with “margin-based” trading customers

·         College degree preferred
