Facilities Maintenance Technician
About the Job
Courier Digital Solutions, located in N. Chelmsford, MA, has a first shift opening for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician at its state-of-the-art Digital Print operation. The Facilities Maintenance Technician would perform mechanical, electrical and general maintenance, which would include repair, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of building systems and production equipment.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Maintain all facility mechanical and electrical systems including HVAC, fire suppression and prevention, power distribution, back up power, trim removal, plant and office lighting, humidification, compressed air, plumbing, etc.
- Maintain general building systems including security, roofing, modular furniture, parking lot, loading docks, exterior landscape, interior and exterior walls and doors, restrooms, etc.
- Repair complex graphic arts equipment.
- Perform temporary fixes to keep equipment running as needed.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and make repairs as required.
- Assist digital printing department in the performance of scheduled PMs; maintain preventive maintenance and work order request records.
- Learn HP, Muller Martini, and other maintenance routines and apply skills when necessary.
- Operate machine tooling necessary to support maintenance functions noted above.
- Assist outside contractors and corporate engineering with projects as needed.
- Assist with the maintenance of inventory records of machine parts, tools and maintenance supplies.
- Participate as a Fire and Evacuation Team member.
Experience/Education:
- 5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with digital printing & binding equipment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to read, write and follow work instruction in English and effectively communicate with team.
- PC skills are required.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use a ruler.
The Facilities Maintenance Technician must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and use hand tools and powered industrial equipment, and stand, walk, or be on feet for 8-12 hour periods of time.
