Facilities Manager

Description:

Manage & lead staff by directing day-to-day activities of shipping/receiving; internal/external courier; records management program & policies; security; office supplies; other employee services/activities; & safety awareness programs. Facility management & maintenance upkeep of infrastructure & systems.  Includes daily operations maintenance of the physical facility & customer support. Acts as liaison with landlord; project management; construction & renovation project management; office & facility moves. Manages communication with local community officials to ensure knowledge of & adherence to all local regulations pertaining to the facility & surrounding property.

Desired Skills:

Ability to manage multiple functions; administration, purchasing, budgeting. Performance management mindset and know-how; employee development; ability to make objective decisions.  Experience with DOT, Fire Protection, Hazardous Materials and Hazardous Waste. PC Skills (MS Office, Lotus Notes, MS Project, etc.); database and project management systems. Communicate & work collaboratively with other shared services functions within the organization. Strong facilitation, interpersonal & writing skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. 

Education/Exp:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in business management or related facilities management field (e.g. engineering, facilities mgmt).  Facilities management certification desirable.  5 to 10 years experience with increasing levels of responsibility in a related field plus 3 to 5 years experience managing these responsibilities in the lead role.
