The Working Team Leader/ Facilities Supervisor is a highly skilled position responsible for accuracy and quality results when completing all procedures. Required involvement in both predictive and preventive maintenance of all equipment and facilities is mandatory in the daily workload of this position. The use of multi craft skills and the ability to have an excellent troubleshooting background with adequate electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and building experience is desirable. The Working Team Leader will assist the Deputy Director in the area with assignment of work orders, review of materials required; equipment set up, and ensure correct and compliant completion of the work. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

·         Equipment Repair/General maintenance.  Monitoring and Repairing of equipment/systems; i.e.; Reactors, Autoclaves, DI, WFI, boilers, Incubators, etc. Also, includes pump seals / rebuilds, plumbing/piping work, etc.  In a GMP environment.

·         Rebuild WFI and Clean Steam Vessels

·         Extensive troubleshooting of all site-wide Process Equipment, Plant Utility and Facility Systems

·         Execute elastomer change outs for Bio Reactors

·         Coordinate Plant Shutdowns

·         Coordinates internal requests for services with outside contractors and vendors

·         Interact with other support groups such as Engineering, Validation, Quality Assurance

·         Provides Daily Supervision and completes annual evaluations of direct reports.

·         Ensures that safety/housekeeping norms, procedures and acceptable work practices are followed.

·         Control Spare Parts Inventory.

·         Facilitates and participates with technicians in on the job training and development 

·         Manage and participate in the “on-call” support for Canton and Cambridge.

·         Represent the department in Deviations, Change Control and Excursion Meetings

·         Must hold a license in one of the following areas:

o        HVAC

o        Boiler Operator

o        Waste Water Operator

·         Primary point of contact for all internal and external issues relating to:

o        Janitorial/recycling

o        Laboratory equipment repair and maintenance (in conjunction with the calibration department).

o        Office relocations and equipment moves

o        Off-site storage and retrieval

o        HVAC repairs and maintenance

o        Signage

o        Prepares requisitions for service vendors.

o        Update SOP’s for the Department.

·         Other duties as may be assigned.

 

 

This position requires the incumbent to be an individual with the working skills and experience of a technician with excellent leadership, training and communication skills.  High School Diploma or Equivalent is a must; BA/BS Degree is a plus with 5 – 7 years experience supervising a multidiscipline maintenance team. The individual will be assigned to a specific location or shift within the site and be expected to operate and work with a wide variety of people in sometimes stressful situations.  Involvement with outside contractors, engineering and other internal groups will be necessary. All work must adhere to all current GMP, SOP, and good maintenance practices. The position requires up to 25% overtime and availability for call-in requests.
