We are looking for qualified sales professionals with a background in selling Information Management Consulting Services/Solutions, as well as deep knowledge and experience in an array of Federal markets, with a primary focus on Federal Civilian Agencies.  The Business Development Manager will be assigned markets within their area of expertise, with the responsibility of account penetration across all departments and business segments, promoting immixGroup’s core capabilities and qualifications for these efforts.  The Business Development Manager must be knowledgeable in all facets of the assigned markets, bringing with them a full list of contacts to build a call plan around.

 

Account penetration consists of both tactical and strategic initiatives, requiring the Business Development Manager to achieve both short-term revenue goals as well as long-term strategic partnerships within their respective markets.

 

Additionally, extensive knowledge and experience working with a variety of consulting partner organizations currently working within their assigned agencies is necessary to achieve success. A thorough background and familiarity with technology solution selling is required.  These include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Information Management Solutions
  • Content Management
  • Document Management
  • Operations and Maintenance
  • Web & Portal Development
  • Application Implementation and Support
  • Data Management
  • Technology Stack (IBM, Oracle)
  • Project Management
  • Program Management Office Support
  • Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V)

Past professional services experience and relationships across multiple vendor product lines, including Oracle, IBM, Guidance, Sourcefire, ArcSight, and others is a plus.

This position requires proven leadership, organization and planning ability, as well as the experience to lead multidisciplinary and multi-organizational teams preparing proposals in response to specific government requirements. Outstanding oral and written communication skills as well as negotiation skills are expected.  Requires the ability to recognize market problems, develop creative and innovative solutions, and facilitate business unit productivity and growth by sponsoring and championing new programs. The Business Development Manager must possess the capability to work individually and in a team environment. A general understanding of D/FARS, FARS, GSA, IDIQs/GWACs, and other Government contracting vehicles is necessary. Background experience with prime and subcontracting partner relationships is ideal. Must be a self starter. Must have good work/life balance skill, accompanied by the ability to recognize own signs of stress and manage them well.

 

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire sales lifecycle, including prospecting, identification, qualification, capture management, and proposal management
  • Expand immixGroup’s footprint into one or more  markets/agencies, including (but not limited to):
  • Treasury or State Department
  • Department of Homeland Security
  • Department of Commerce
  • Department of Defense
  • Commercial Entities
  • Bring a strong base of contacts, knowledge, and experience in the Information Management and Cyber Security divisions of the assigned account(s), including relevant primes/partners
  • Build relationships within assigned territory
  • Leverage existing contacts to influence key decision makers 
  • Generate new opportunities and increase revenue 
  • Build and manage relationships with key sponsors and influencers within the community, including associations and affiliations
  • Coordinate sales efforts as leader of a virtual account team
  • Create a sales pipeline and accurately forecast activity in the CRM System
  • Experience in development of Business Plans and Customer proposals
  • Thorough Prospecting, Capture, and Proposal Management experience
  • Excellent opportunity qualification and ability to close business
  • Meet and exceed quarterly/annual revenue goals in assigned accounts

 

Requirements, Desired Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Minimum 5+ yrs solid experience of success in the Federal sector, and three to seven years related management experience in IT and solutions implementations in fields/industries
  • Demonstrated sales experience including lead generation, business development, marketing, selling and closing complex Federal IT deals in set aside and full and open competitions with individual responsibility for closing multiple single awards that generated revenues at least $5 million to $50 million
  • Must be a US citizen, as well as a federal agency/DoD sponsored Top Secret or higher clearance
  • Proven successful experience in managing sales cycle.  Knowledge/certification in the Shipley processes is preferred
  • Familiarization with processes and certifications associated with Information Management solutions and consulting, such as CMMI, ISO 9001:2000, CISP, etc., and knowledge of federal directives associated with these markets
  • Ability to identify appropriate business targets and relationships, secure appointments at and close the deal
  • Experience in creating, finding, and leading winning bid and proposal efforts of varying sizes
  • Proposal management experience, including proposal creation, iterative reviews, theme messaging, and writing
  • Capture management experience, including negotiating NDAs, Teaming Agreements, partner subcontracts, etc.
  • Broad knowledge of Federal procurement practices and contract vehicles, particularly GSA business practices and Federal Supply Schedules
  • Ability to be a team player and support other efforts outside of area of direct responsibility while, at same time, being self motivated and willing to drive opportunities to closure with little supervision
  • Ability and willingness to travel when necessary
  • BS/BA degree in Marketing, Business Administration or IT, or equivalent experience required.  However, a Master's Degree (MBA) is ideal
