Our client in Washington, DC is looking for a Federal Internal Finance consultant to fill a permanent role.
As a Finance & Performance Management business leader in the Federal Public Services practice, you will support clients with capabilities in the areas of Budget Planning and Formulation, Finance Operations, Risk Management and Enterprise Performance Management to help them achieve high performance.
We are currently seeking a Consultant with Internal Control, Risk Management, Financial Systems, Planning/Budgeting/Forecasting (EPM) and Finance Operations experience to work in the Federal Public Services industry
Role Description
The Federal and Public Services F&PM Consultant will be participate in projects that support the client's overall financial and performance initiatives by developing and implementing programs, frameworks, and enabling technologies. The role will support the development of content to the business teams of our clients. This position will play an important role in the performance of vital project tasks, from planning through execution, including development of project sponsor and stakeholder requirements, project reporting and knowledge management.
Key responsibilities may include:
• Supporting the client through Financial process improvement strategy development
• Supporting the client through specific problem definition and issue identification based upon problem solving principles and past experience
• Interpreting regulations and development of compliance programs
• Designing, implementing, and creating benchmarking for governance frameworks
• Supporting client senior management in designing financial process management strategies.
• Creating and implementing financial process project management procedures including project management methodology, forms, reports, templates with guidelines and instructions.
• Leveraging Accenture expertise in designing and implement financial process frameworks and practices for business units.
• Work with internal business units to determine needs and specifications for new systems and/or enhancements to systems
• Ability to meet travel requirements, 50%
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree
• 4+ years prior experience in Financial Management or Federal consulting including:Experience in financial control assessment; auditing; business process reengineering, and project management; Strong knowledge of the Federal financial management; Knowledge and experience in documenting and assessing internal control; Ability to design/implement financial and process improvement solutions; Ability to assess and analyze financial/accounting environments; Experience with budgeting and forecasting on large engagements
Preferred Qualifications:
• Department of Health & Human Services(DHHS) work experience
• PMP, CPA are a plus
• Valued Experience:
• Enterprise Risk Management
• Prior governmental financial management or systems experience
• Knowledge of federal resource allocation processes, fiscal policy, and federal budgeting
• Experience in analysis of financial statements to assess program performance
• Previous experience in strategic planning tied to financial and/or program development and management
