Federal Program Project Coordinator - HIV/AIDS
Altarum Institute’s Community Health Services (CHS) group is searching for a Project Coordinator to work within their HIV/AIDS Area of Expertise. CHS is interested in hiring flexible, creative, talented, productive and self motivated staff with a consulting and/or contracting background to support national knowledge transfer and technical assistance projects. The project goals are to provide responsive, high quality program management and technical assistance informed by systems change and research to community based organizations, local and state departments of health. This position will help CBOs and health departments implement prevention activities to decrease the HIV epidemic in communities of color who are at high-risk for HIV/AIDS (including African American, Latino, Native American and Pacific Islanders, women, youth, men who have sex with men and GLBT communities). Currently, we are seeking new team members in the Washington DC and Atlanta, GA areas.Duties and Responsibilities: • Reports directly to the Deputy Director to support and maintain the project/teams direction • Actively participate in a TA team in order to provide coordinated high quality service • Write and/or review TA reports • Enter information on TA activities and projects into tracking database • Provide information on consumer (CBO and/or health department) trends and other newsworthy items to the Deputy Project Director to support product development Requirements: 1. Master's degree (or work equivalent) with 4-6 years of relevant work experience on contracts or projects serving public and community-based programs. • Providing project coordination to community based organizations and/or health departments serving communities of color, women, youth, and MSM • Increasing capacity with systems e.g. communities, local, state and federal • Working collaboratively on a team to reach shared goals, objectives and deliverables 2. Demonstrated experience working as a team leader or member. 3. Experience with HIV prevention, care or support services, especially within communities of color, preferred. 4. Familiarity with State programs and policy issues related to the delivery of HIV prevention activities and services. 5. Experience working with high-level Federal, State, and local government officials preferred Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. 6. Demonstrated proficiencies in writing and conceptualizing work plans. 7. Experience on detailed projects and small teams preferred. 8. Demonstrated writing and research skills.
