We are looking for a Field Support Engineer to serve as the primary technical contact to MainConcept partners who are implementing our technology into their software and consumer electronics products. Support is provided to MainConcept partners and customers via email, phone conference calls and onsite visits.

THE EVERYDAY VIEW

As the Field Application Support Engineer for MainConcept, you will be expected to learn MainConcept software development kits (Windows, Mac and Linux) inside and out, answer first line technical questions from customers and prospective customers, work with software developers to integrate MainConcept technology into their solutions and work with MainConcept developers on technical escalations. Additional day-to-day activities will include the following:
  • Provide assistance to MainConcept partners integrating MainConcept technology, including debugging their products
  • Work with MainConcept Product Management, Business Development, Sales and Engineering teams to resolve partner issues
  • Travel may be required from 5% to 40% of the time to build technical relationships, educate partners on MainConcept technology and assist our Business Development and Sales teams with pre-sales conference calls and visits
  • Troubleshoot and track problems to a successful conclusion
  • Update and develop software code in C or C++
  • Develop and maintain documentation to support and clarify MainConcept technology

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate for this position will be an expert at managing and troubleshooting technical issues across a range of operating systems, software and technology services. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with programming in C or C++
  • Experience with DirectShow, QuickTime and GStreamer technology
  • Experience with audio and video codec technology
  • Ability to take ownership of multiple issues with demanding partners, and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner
  • Flexibility and initiative to anticipate partner needs
  • A strong work ethic with a customer-service focus
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • The ability to work seamlessly with different functional organizations
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related field is required
