The Strategic Comp Division seeks to provide a long-term solution to our clients' workers’ compensation needs. We offer a unique combination of effective loss control, intensive claims management, and a financial structure that provides immediate savings when losses are controlled.

 

The Strategic Comp Division is currently searching for a Field Claims Adjuster. The role of the Adjuster is to investigate and adjust workers' comp claims with the highest potential exposure. The person hired for this position will work from their home and must be willing to travel 50-60% of the time. Some overnight travel is required of this position.

  • Investigates losses. Analyzes coverage, determines compensability and benefits.
  • Establishes reserves and negotiates settlements.
  • Conducts face-to-face meetings with insureds and claimants.
  • Analyzes claims. Prepares large loss reports to both internal and external audiences.
  • Attends settlement conferences, pre-trials and trails as assigned.
  • Works closely with claims attorneys and other vendors including medical case management, surveillance, etc.
  • Peforms other duties as needed.

  • Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 7 years workers' comp claims adjusting experience with higher exposure claims in both Virginia and North Carolina.
  • Strong consideration will be given to candidates with industry designations including Associate in Claims
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to work with a variety of internal and external contacts
  • Extensive use of computers and software programs is required of this position
