Field Operations Associate Manager

Brief Posting Description

The Field Operations Manager is responsible for communication, resolution and implementation of all customer processes and transportation issues.

 

Detailed Description

 

1.     Communication

  • Membership on Parts Distribution Center (PDC) management staff.  Understand all aspects of business.
  • Communicate specific issues daily with PDC manager and staff.
  • Attend PDC manager meetings if/when on site.
  • Travel to PDC once per month.  Report findings to Director of Field Operations.
  • Attend dealer quality network meetings whenever possible.
  • Establish relationship with sales zone managers.
  • Report and review key transportation cost, standard measures and actual performance with Schneider Logistics (SLI) customer service, director of field operations and transportation support services; PDC manager, carriers, the customer’s sales department and logistics staff.
  • Communicate with Dealer Customer Satisfaction team.
  • Complete daily field operations/customer service document.
  • Participate in weekly Field Operations Manager team conference call to ensure standard processes.
  • Become the communication link between the customer’s headquarters and PDC, and the PDC and its carriers.

2.     Problem Solving

  • Resolve all transportation issues promptly. 
  • Analyze and implement all DDS route functions.
  • Utilize the entire SLI organization to solve problems.
  • Elevate issues as needed within SLI organization.

3.     Prevention

  • Understand all transportation modes and impact on the PDC and dealer to include:  DDS, small package, rail and truckload moves.
  • Analyze daily inbound, replenishment and yard check reports and communicate trends to PDC.
  • Audit all processes and procedures.  Surface all findings to appropriate levels.

4.     Implement

  • Coordinate and implement template PDC transportation processes.
  • Implement all programs and processes as directed by customer.

 

Job Requirements

  • College degree with 3-5 years logistics/supply chain experience.
  • Proven leadership skills to perform on-site management function.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • High stress tolerance.
  • Solid analytical skills.
  • Aggressive self-starter and team player with strong work ethic.
