Field Property Claims Adjuster-NYC, N. Jersey

Key Responsibilities
-Investigating, evaluating, negotiating and settling moderately complex claims, business interruption, and large field property. Typically of <$100,000 in damages.
-Managing routine litigation
-Verifying/analyzing coverage
-Proper use and management of outside vendors, consultants, field investigations and expert witnesses; audit and reconcile costs and fees.
-Refering cases to appropriate legal resources
-Adhering to litigation management guidelines, manage legal expenses
-Obtaining and documenting information on the circumstances of the case, and obtaining supporting evidence of losses and coverages
-Setting initial reserve and continue evaluation as facts change, making changes or recommendations for reserve changes
-Establishing and executing disposition plan with Team Leader input

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
-Knowledge of property (commercial and personal) claims handling procedures, philosophy, legal concepts, terminology, financial concepts for reserving, & determining losses, negotiation & settlement techniques
-Analytical/technical skills
-Interpersonal & communication skills to work effectively in a team environment by applying the Business Practices and Shared Values
-Strong organizational skills
-Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
-Ability to work in a highly productive environment
-Experience utilizing computer systems
-Strong customer service/telephone skills
-Ability to work independently
-Ability to scope property losses and write detailed estimates that may value $150k
-Xactimate knowledge a strong plus
