Field Trainer Wanted For Leading Telecommunications Company
About the Job
Due to exceptional growth, leading telecommunications company is seeking an experienced Field Trainer. The Field Trainer is responsible for conducting training utilizing the company's safety, quality, and customer service practices, policies, and standards. The Field Trainer will also ensure that OSHA requirements are met while promoting teamwork and the company's mission during each class that is conducted.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Confers with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies to determine training objectives.
• Coordinate training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the local office.
• Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.
• Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as those concerned with new employee orientation, on-the-job training, refresher training, use of computers and software, sales and promotional techniques, health and safety practices, etc.
• Lectures class on safety, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment, following outline, handouts, and texts, and using visual aids, such as graphs, charts, videotape, and slides.
• Administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance and to evaluate effectiveness of training
• Report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods
• Assist employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their position
• Make suggestions on improving work procedures in the operation
• Maintain trainee personnel records
• Develops strong relationship with other markets and departments to develop course materials and receive feedback
• Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information useful to training facility and integrates information into training program
• Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
Has an overall understanding of the work environment and process, with a working knowledge of the organization and an intermediate level of technical skills required to complete assignments. Strong organizational and communications skills. Must be able to work under pressure.
Education and/or Experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Trainer for a wireless, CATV, or telecommunications company
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and employees.
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to utilize Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software and Internet software.
• Physical requirements: the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• SCTE, SBCA, and/or other industry certifications preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver’s license
