Finance Department Manager
Located in Philadelphia with over $192 million in assets, Ukrainian Selfreliance Federal Credit Union (USFCU) is the fourth largest Ukrainian credit union in the United States, dedicated to providing exceptional financial services to members of the Ukrainian community in the greater Philadelphia area.
For the position of Finance Department Manager, we are looking for someone to apply accounting principles to analyze financial information, prepare financial reports, ensure that all accounting operations are performed accurately / timely and, supervise the finance department.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares monthly/quarter-end financial reports including NCUA 5300 report. Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected credit union financial position. Responsible for ALM model input & analysis regarding Income projections, IRR & NEV.
- Works with CEO to prepare annual budget.
- Researches and documents technical accounting issues as necessary to ensure compliance with GAAP. Ensures compliance with regulatory accounting/reporting requirements. Works with CEO and outside auditors to establish, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting, accounting control procedures, and general accounting systems.
- Manages staff responsible for accounts payable, daily & monthly general ledger/bank reconciliations, investment accounting, cash flow projections, payroll, wires and EFT’s.
- Responds to inquiries from various levels of management regarding data contained in financial statements. Researches and responds to inquiries of federal examiners, as well as internal and external auditors in written and verbal form.
- Ensures adherence to and reviews annually all related policies and procedures. Recommends changes as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bi-Lingual - Fluency in Ukrainian and English preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a 4-year college or university and minimum 7 years related experience, including at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members and regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively present information to CEO, and Board of Directors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel, or equivalent programs.
