Position Description:

Location: Richmond, VA
Internship Start: May 2010

Summary:
Genworth Financial’s Finance Internship Program provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands on experience in the finance and accounting fields while developing a wide variety of technical and interpersonal skills. Interns will work with top Finance Leaders in one of several departments throughout Genworth such as financial planning and analysis, controllership, audit, expense, accounting and reporting, operations analysis, etc. working on challenging assignments designed to stretch their abilities. Throughout their 12-week internship experience, interns will develop a network of peers and mentors that will be a constant source of encouragement and advice. At the end of the summer, successful interns who are rising Seniors will have the opportunity to interview and receive job offers for the full-time Finance Development Program before returning to school for the fall semester.

In addition to the work experience, Genworth encourages participation in the various networking and community service events that it sponsors. Interns will also have the opportunity to take advantage of various professional development and technical classes that are delivered by the Genworth training staff. Interns relocating to the area will be given a housing and relocation stipend to help with their expenses.

Successful candidates have a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative, aggressive, change-oriented business environment with a strong desire to pursue corporate finance and accounting opportunities.

Requirements:
* Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in the following majors: Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance or Accounting
* Minimum or better GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
* High aspirations for a career in the Finance/Accounting field
* Strong Finance and Accounting skill set
* High initiative
* Leadership, interpersonal, and analytical skills
* Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communications
