The Market Finance team provides guidance to Market leaders through financial planning (development of annual strategic plans, budgets and monthly projections), performance analysis (budget variance and trend analysis), evaluating the impact of issues to strategies and budget, developing profit improvement action plans to achieve budget, assessing the competitive environment, influencing the selling, pricing, and cost management processes, and evaluating expansion opportunities.
As a Market Finance Director you will provide leadership and direction to the Market Finance team in the areas of Strategic Planning, Analysis and Execution, Financial Analysis, Pricing and Sales Management and Claims Cost Management.
- Strategy development including Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats analysis, utilization of corporate MAP data, utilization of market potential analyses, game changers, issue identification and action plans.
- Assist or drive with Regional and Corporate Market reviews, including strategic preparation plan and presentation.
- Oversee annual and monthly Budget development, variance and trend analysis
- Prepare of monthly Market Performance and Outlook Report.
- Analyze, understand, influence and communicate results of all pricing processes; pricing trend, manual rate analyses, repricing factors, network factors.
- Educate market leadership on pricing trend and ways business decisions impact trend (e.g. network changes) and competitive position.
- Actively participate in Small Business Strategy Team and monthly Large Business block renewal review meetings.
- Consult during rate setting and renewal negotiations for primarily 300+ size employer groups.
- Drive the development and monitoring of Network and Clinical cost management initiatives by proactively leading the Local Market Trend Committee to achieve the Market's financial plan. Actively participate in Market Clinical Operations meetings.
- Analyze trends in medical costs (actual vs. budget vs. expected for market vs. benchmarks). Responsible for recommending corrective action plans to the Local Market Trend Committee.

Role Essentials
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
- Progressive leadership experience in a finance role
- Prior experience working for Health Carrier or Payor
Role Desirables
- Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field

- You will have direct reports. You will report to a Regional CFO.
