Responsible for the financial results and reporting of Arkema’s Acrylics business unit within the Americas. Works with Plant Controllers and Financial Analysts to ensure that results accurately reflect operational activity and analyze significant factors affecting pricing, volume, cost, and profitability. Oversees the Americas monthly forecasts of operational results to identify significant trends, working collaboratively with Business Managers, sales, and logistics professionals. Facilitates the annual five-year planning process for the Americas and oversees the maintenance of the planning models to reflect the business plan globally.
- Manages internal and external audits as required to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely process
- Oversees results and emerging issues with plant management at all Americas manufacturing sites, providing guidance and advice on financial/accounting issues
- Manages [and delegates, as appropriate] all data requests from Executive, Legal, Tax, Insurance, and Accounting departments
- Reviews economic analyses of all new and existing major capital projects, and leads [or provides financial guidance] to strategic projects
- Oversees the administration of transfer-pricing mechanisms to ensure policy compliance between Arkema North America and foreign entities
- Reviews US balance sheet and outstanding accruals monthly with Accounting Manager and advises of any necessary actions.
- Bachelor’s degree in a finance, accounting, or engineering discipline, MBA preferred
- 10+ years experience in the finance/cost accounting field within an industrial environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with a strong knowledge of SAP desired
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a willingness to interact with all business functions and levels of management
- International business experience with sensitivity to cultural interactions and/or international issues
- Strong business orientation and analytical aptitude
- Self-directed, proactive, self-starter who possesses project leadership skills
