Position: Finance Manager
Description:
Hands on management of a small, dynamic finance team. Develop and follow up on annual operating budget, margins and financial ratios. Assure financial compliance, follow up on all related laws and regulations. Manage third party business contracts and approval process. Assure timely reporting, correct book keeping, effective and timely collections of payments and accurate credit rating of customers.
Level Responsibilities:
· Accountable for the finance department function, including supervising A/P Specialist, A/R Specialist, Credit Specialist, and a Financial Analyst positions.
· Manage, prepare and following up on budget, review of quarterly for updates, deviations and reporting. Approve budgeted expenses and escalate unbudgeted expense approvals as needed.
· Responsible for continuous improvement of department performance and efficiency. Ensure the ongoing utilization of department employees in the most optimal and efficient way.
· Develop performance improvement measures and processes for department employees and provide reporting to executive management.
· Evaluate performance of the department employees according to established targets and performance indicators.
· Participate in the recruitment, development, evaluation and (if needed) termination process of department employees with the approval of the executive management.
· Ensure system, document and reporting information is entered correctly, properly and timely.
· Accountable for final approval of all recruitment and termination decisions.
· Request and follow up on all trainings for new and existing employees as needed.
Departmental Responsibilities:
· Coordinate/reviews period close activities and financial results. Provide period close trends, variance analysis, and commentary reporting; conduct necessary reconciliation and adjustments.
· Develops future financial planning, follow up on current and planned P&L and financial performance of the company with its deviations and sensitivity analysis and present them to executive management for timely actions on savings or to support management decisions.
· Responsible for timely budgeting process including providing guidance to department heads for departmental budgets, consolidation to corporate budget and presentations to the executive management. Ensure follow up revisions and adjustments, reports and actual vs. budgeted expenses.
· Ensure the expense approval process operates in a timely manner and develop/implement process improvements to the expense policy to increase effectiveness.
· Ensure proper and timely operations of all book keeping, including: inventory (by partnering with Operations Manager), general ledger and providing financial statements such as cash flow, income statement, and balance sheet.
· Ensures department employees carry out all payments and collections properly and timely.
· Ensure client credit ratings are up-to-date and credit rating is being done properly.
· Research/follow up related laws and regulations; Ensure compliance with all financial operations.
· Manages third party contracts with related departments and executive management.
· Maintain integrity of information in the financial and inventory management systems. Provide accurate information to assist with business decisions and requirements.
· Request, review and comment archives Return-on-Investment (ROI) analyses for unbudgeted expenses and projects.
· Provide back up on Human Resource functions in the absence of an HR Manager
· Respond to other departments’ financial request and queries as needed.
· Develop and implement a training plan for department employees.
· Performing special duties as assigned.
Skills Summary:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
Experience:
· 5+ years in finance or accounting department.
· 2+ years as finance manager or accounting manager.
· Prior collections experience preferred
Computer Skills:
Word, Excel, Outlook, Peachtree, PayPro, Online Banking Programs, Custom ERP system
Other Skills:
· Strong communications skills (both verbal and written).
· Excellent organization and time management skills.
· Ability to thrive in a highly visible fast paced environment, managing multiple conflicting priorities.
· Strong quantitative and analytical problem solving skills.
· Strong knowledge of Peachtree, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software.
· Ability to meet strict deadlines.
