American Municipal Tax-Exempt Compliance Corp. (d.b.a. AMTEC) has been operating continuously as an arbitrage rebate consultant since 1990, and added refunding verification agent services in 2002. AMTEC is retained by its arbitrage rebate clients to determine the amount of arbitrage profit or loss from the investment of tax-exempt bond proceeds in taxable investments. These computations are required and audited by the IRS. Arbitrage profits, minus some computational exceptions, must be paid to the IRS. Our client base includes state governments, agencies, counties, cities, school districts, hospitals, colleges and universities located throughout the United States.
The analyst will be responsible for full service to each client, perform complex financial tax-exempt bond yield calculations and compare the results to the internal rate of return from a portfolio of taxable investments. The final analysis is processed into a formal rebate report and presented to our clients. No experience necessary as training is provided, but the selected candidate will be expected to operate and think independently.
The analyst will be responsible for a series of calculations each month, including the organization of the data and documentation necessary to complete arbitrage rebate calculations, resulting in the issuance of a formal rebate report.
