HCRI is continuing to expand its leadership presence and currently has an opening for a Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for HCRI’s financial accounting operations through account analysis, journal entry preparation, and performance of accounting practices according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position will contribute significantly to the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and enter accounting entries for assigned accounts.
2. Analyze and reconcile accounts as assigned.
3. Identify and resolve variances that are identified through reconciliations.
4. Prepare budget variance reports.
5. Support preparation of annual operating budget.
6. Prepare schedules for assigned accounts on a monthly and annual basis.
7. Support HCRI efforts in preparation for annual independent CPA audits.
8. Support HCRI’s efforts towards compliance with OMB circulars as they relate to HCRI’s participation in federally funded projects and contracts.
9. Participate in continuous improvement of accounting department practices through recommendations, performance, and related actions.
10. Respond to requests from HCRI management for regular and ad hoc analyses and reports.
11. Support efforts of Project Accounting Group related to provision of accounting information.
12. Participate in Accounts Receivable administration as a supplement to primary Accounts Receivable staff resources.
13. Provide support to Accounts Payable, Payroll and related functions.
14. Support efforts of other accounting team members, as needed.
15. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
BS/BA in Accounting or related experience
Yrs. of related experience:
Required: Minimum of 3 years in accounting functions
Preferred: Experience in related industry
Preferred: NIH/federal funds contract/budgeting experience
Preferred: experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL accounting software or similar platform
