Job Description
Analyze and communicate findings for:
· Frozen versus simulated cost and prior year versus current weighted average costs.
· Plant operating variances.
· Usage variances for ingredients and packaging.
· Customer and product sales results.
· Customer/Product P&L results
· Purchase price variances.
· Inventory valuation impacts.
· Freight costs
· “What-if” cost projects.
Set up, maintain, and insure the integrity of:
· All standard (frozen) costs in JDE.
· All simulated costs used for valuation; P&L’s, and analysis.
· The monthly X8 cost component calculation process.
· All historical monthly costs.
Inventory Valuation including:
· Run monthly inventory valuation reports.
· Review results and follow-up exceptions.
· Prepare average actual cost inventory valuation entry.
· Copy final inventory valuation costs to appropriate branch plants.
New Product Costings and What-if’s:
· Work with plants to gather necessary information to put together new product costs.
· Provide what-if costs by maintaining projected costs of materials, current/projected DME costs and running cost simulations.
Other:
· Play an integral part in preparation and loading of annual budgets.
· Run, validate, and distribute customer/product P&L’s.
· Other duties and projects as required.
Job Qualifications
· Substantial interaction with plant personnel · A basic understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory accounting. · Development of an understanding/knowledge of JDE as it relates to sales, cost of goods sold, inventory value, manufacturing accounting, and related GL impacts. · 10% travel
· 5 + years of experience required. · Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, MBA preferred · Computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Business Objects
