Job Description Summary:
Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Compiles and analyzes financial information, prepares general ledger journal entries and documents business transactions each month in preparation for month-end close.

Performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings.

Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.

Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limit

Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.

Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.

Installs, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.

Plays a key role in assisting with budgeting, monthly forecasting and annual audits.

Reconcile cash accounts with bank statements.

Responsible for capital reporting, capital processing, approval, and depreciation.

Conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation.

Works directly with centralized accounting team as necessary.

Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience : Bachelor's degree in Accounting from four-year college or university; hospitality industry experience preferred but not required; 1-3 years of accounting related experience.

Language Skills : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills : To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of JDEdwards Accounting software; Outlook Internet software; Excel Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
