About the Opportunity

Financial Manager III

As a Corporate Finance Manager, you will be part of PNC's Shared Services Finance staff. This position is responsible for working with the Shared Services CFO to minimize potential risks and ensure business is conducted and reported with the highest degree of integrity. The Controller also works cooperatively with the segment CFOs (e.g., Technology & Operations, Realty Services, Staff Services) to support the overall business strategy while maintaining the independent role of chief accountant.

 
The focus of this position is on accurately recording the business performance while identifying and mitigating risks that could cause misstatements with the corporate books and records. This position also serves as the liaison between Shared Services and the Accounting Policy team. The position requires a strong self-starter who is able to manage multiple competing priorities on a daily basis.  Strong accounting and communication skills are a must.
·         Provide accounting leadership in regards to relevant projects or activities that may impact the financial infrastructure to make sure no negative impact to financial processes.
·         Ensure that general accounting policies & procedures, Shared Services policies, and Finance Control policies are followed consistently and accurately across Shared Services Finance.
·         Provide guidance to segment CFOs on financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing accounting policies and procedures.
·         Coordinate and oversee monthly and quarterly reporting and closing procedures including management accounting results, GAAP checklist, Controller checklist, SOX certification and
          Account Substantiation.
·         Serve as single point of contact for Shared Services Finance into the Corporate Controller and the Accounting Policy teams for technical accounting research.
·         In conjunction with segment CFOs and Shared Services CFO, oversee preparation and review of applicable SEC Disclosures for Shared Services Finance.
·         Serve as the single point of contact for Shared Services Finance for internal and external auditors.
·         Ensure that accounting entries are processed and reviewed accurately.
 
 
 



The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Finance or Accounting with five to ten years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is a must

  • Demonstrated leadership within the Finance and Accounting Function; previous experience in a Controller function or Sr. Accountant is preferred

  • Advanced interpersonal & communication skills, business acumen, and presentation skills with focus on quality and integritity

  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
