Assignment Capsule
As a Financial Consultant, you will prepare, analyze and review financial data, transactions and reports, including ad hoc data requests. Identify ways to re-engineer current reports and process. Manage control between the platforms to assure data integrity.

  • Work with all of Service Operations and IT to take existing metric data and roll it up holistically for Humana as a whole
  • This role is responsible for claims, ancillary, and metrics reporting at a high level
  • Receive membership data from corporate and break it down for each of our service centers
  • Work closely with service center finance associates and business leaders
  • Pull together the metrics packages that report out end to end business metrics for SOIT in total
  • Work with VP and Leadership to make sure reporting all the correct metrics
  • Day to day duties: reconciliation of claims platform all that go in and out are being reported correctly within the platform
  • Data trends or anomalies work with the business areas to understand the anomalies and make sure the team is performing root cause analysis
  • Ad Hoc requests 50% of time answering ad hoc questions
  • Take existing metrics and look at them in different ways than what is typically reported (end total and different graphs from a different perspective)
  • Be able to look at metrics that we are reporting and make sure they are telling the story that they are telling
  • Gap analysis to report all metrics from high level from claims and calls
  • Projects that ensure all data reported is really needed. Business changes and metrics change and working with the business and being flexible and understand the business functions to ask the right questions to be flexible.

Role Essentials
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Prior financial or metrics reporting experience
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills with demonstrated experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability and desire to function at a high level independently and seek-out/research information with minimal supervision
  • Experience in data collection from multiple cross functional sources
  • Experience in financial data analysis to ensure integrity and appropriateness
  • Ability to balance, prioritize and complete multiple projects timely and accurately
  • Demonstrated ability to capitalize on technology to provide efficient and effective reporting
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial leadership


Role Desirables
  • Previous health insurance industry experience working in a Finance/Accounting department
  • Oracle database experience
  • SQL Server experi
