The Financial Operations Consultant serves as a subject matter expert and product owner for the Organization. Responsible for reviewing and preparing interpretation of financial data, financial projections, and results. Performs consulting services to support business studies, economic evaluation, and planning functions. Builds queries and macros to streamline processes. Can build database from scratch. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Represents organization on strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Performs Product Owner roles and responsibilities.
  • Maintains business process maps, story boards and product/requirements backlog.
  • Leads product/user acceptance testing and reviews and approves results.
  • Supports operational readiness deliverables stemming from project impacts.
  • Prepares complex presentations. Advises management of various financial recommendations.
  • Identifies complex financial problems or issues related to workflow processes, researches solutions, and implements corrective steps to achieve higher level of operational efficiency.
  • Analyzes data of past and current operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred.
  • Participates in various committees or work groups to develop, implement, modify, and document new or revised record keeping functions to current computerized accounting systems technology.
  • Researches system issues and documents findings.
  • Creates and develops new policies/procedures.
  • Uses discretion in making independent decisions.

This position may work from our Indianapolis, IN; Mason, OH; Pewaukee, WI; Wallingford, CT or Woodland Hills, CA offices.

Qualifications
  • Requires a BS/BA in finance, accounting or business administration; 3-5 years' experience in a finance/health insurance field capacity; prior experience with relational databases, mainframe and client server report writers; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • MBA, CPA, CMA, CFA or applicable professional designation preferred.
  • Subject Matter Expert, Business Analyst and/or Leadership experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with Internal Sales Compensation and/or Broker Commission operations preferred.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills required.
  • Strong technical skills desired specifically with MS Office.
