Financial Reporting Analyst (21134)

We are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting Analyst to be located at our Sun Prairie (Madison), WI corporate headquarters. In this position you will have the exciting opportunity to work alongside our highly skilled and extremely professional finance and accounting team. You will oversee and be the subject matter expert on all investment accounting matters and you will be challenged to stay current on US Statutory investment guidelines. You will be given the opportunity to design, establish and implement with the improvement of processes and efficiencies that will be of great value to the department and the company.

Lead the completion of assigned investment accounting and reporting processes, programs, and projects to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements. Direct the development and maintenance of the Company's accounting policies and procedures. Act as a technical expert and resource for department staff.

1.Coordinate completion of monthly, quarterly and annual investment accounting and reporting duties.
2.Monitor statutory investment reporting requirements and coordinate changes.
3.Coordinate with Group Investment Division the timely completion of all necessary programming changes related to investment reporting.
4.Participate in testing of programming changes to investment reporting system.
5.Direct the completion of designated external audits and financial exams.
6.Prepare completion of assigned reports including Board of Directors reports.
7.Coordinate the review, interpretation and implementation of accounting policies consistent with regulatory and company requirements.

The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities normally required for competent performance in the job.

Required Education and/or Experience:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or its equivalent and continuing education related to the job.
•7 or more years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.


Job Related Knowledge and Skills:
•Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and Statutory accounting practices. Experience with National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is highly preferred.
•Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting practices.
•Comprehensive achievements in financial analysis, interpretation and communication of financial results.
•Demonstrated achievements in identification, management, and implementation of process improvements.
•Demonstrated proficiency in financial applications across multiple platforms.
•CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
