About the Job

The Global Messaging & Content group seeks an experienced writer/editor to join the PIMCO Communications team.  This is a new position within the team that will report to the SVP and global head of Messaging & Content.

 

The Messaging & Content team is part of the firm’s Marketing Communications (MarComm) department.   They help conceive, shape and shepherd “thought leadership” articles from across the firm. These articles typically appear on PIMCO.com and/or as client collateral materials.

 

 

·         Responsible for formulating, writing and/or editing a variety of different articles and marketing materials.

·         Execute a wide variety of editorial, tactical and strategic assignments including brochures, messaging, scripts or talking points for PIMCO investment professionals, product-description papers, strategy documents, etc.

·         Gather relevant context, conduct interviews with thought leaders (if required), and act as primary authors (uncredited) of the articles.

·         Manage multiple assignments of varying scope and impact.

·         Represent MarComm at strategic meetings with key internal stakeholders.

·         Manage articles and other written materials through a vigorous and important internal compliance review.

Requirements

 

·         5 or more years of professional writing experience, ideally as a financial journalist or financial-services professional. Communications and media relations professionals with strong writing backgrounds also will be considered.

·         Broad familiarity with financial markets is required.  Experience writing about credit markets, economics and financial derivatives is a plus, as is experience with the asset-management industry. 

·         Ability to juggle multiple assignments.

·         Ability to present, develop and defend ideas and themes.

·         Support the firm in its global headquarters, working closely with investment professionals there and handling late-breaking assignments or issues that may arise after writers in other regions have left for the day.

·         Undergraduate degree required.   Advance degree preferred.
