Projects
Parsons is providing engineering and facility management support to the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, and other government facilities in the surrounding area.  This team member will interact with Parsons engineering and construction team members as well as our subcontractors, vendors and government clients.
 
Need
We are seeking a fire protection engineer who has experience designing, testing and retrofitting fire alarm and sprinkler systems.  The successful candidate will have provided fire protection engineering for projects involving laboratories, clean rooms, offices, and computer rooms. This position is a mixture of working in an on-site construction environment and an office design environment. You will be defining fire protection scope and budgets, selecting equipment, developing efficient installation schedules, determining material takeoffs, and coordinating activities with other disciplines on the team to meet our client's needs. In addition, you must be able to apply your knowledge of current fire protection technology. In this role, familiarity with industry practices and regulations plus the ability to work collaboratively with other engineers will be keys to your success.
 



·        8+years of related fire protection engineering experience in relevant projects and environments
·        BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Fire Protection Engineering preferred)
·        Current fire protection certification and willing to be listed as s Parsons' representative on State of Maryland Fire Protection Sprinkler Contractor License
·        Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD 2006/2007
·        Professional engineer (PE) registration as a Fire Protection Engineer
