First Assistant

Job Summary: Supports department by providing direct patient care during operative procedures by assisting the surgeon with desired surgical outcome.

Required Education: Graduate of an approved surgical technologist course, or graduate of an accredited LPN program; an Associates of Science degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Science (to qualify with three years of experience)

Required License: Surgical Technician certification - CST; LPN-current NC license (if working in a First Assistant role), current certification as a First Assistant, current BCLS certification.

Required Experience: Three years surgical technician experience (with an A.S. as identified above) or five years surgical technician experience; LPN-additional training and five years experience in operating room setting.
