Flexographic Printing Shipping-Receiving Supervisor


Volt Technical Resources is hiring a Flexographic Printing Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to work for Our Client in Peachtree City. Specifically, we are seeking someone with a background in an Industrial/Manufacturing Printing environment.

Position Overview:

This position requires someone with strong technical expertise plus a proven ability to manage people. Reasoning, verbal and written skills are essential. A desire to constantly seek means to improve quality and/or reduce cost is also essential. This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Flexographic Printing Shipping/Receiving Supervisor:


  1. Supervises daily activities of Press Operators, Make Ready, Packers/Rewinders and Inventory personnel.
  2. Inspects labels in order to verify conformance to specifications, and directs setup and adjustments of press operations.
  3. Assists the Production Planner with label production scheduling and suggests alternate scheduling, where possible, for cost efficiency, as well as to achieve on-time delivery.
  4. Interprets:

    • Company Policies and Procedures to workers and enforces safety regulations.
    • Label specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers and assigns duties.


  5. Schedules overtime (to be approved by Plant Manager).
  6. Recommends methods to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of labels.
  7. Supervises and/or performs routine emergency maintenance on production equipment; ensures that adequate spare parts are available.
  8. Analyzes and resolves work problems and/or assists workers in solving work problems.
  9. Maintains production, efficiency, laminate waste, tool life and VOC Emissions records.
  10. Estimates, requisitions and inspects materials.
  11. Monitors Tab Powder, tooling and ink inventories.
  12. Initiates:

    • Re-sharpening and new tooling purchase requisitions.
    • Or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.


  13. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of units.
  14. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.


Responsibilities also include:


  • Interviewing, hiring and training employees.
  • Planning, assigning and directing work.
  • Appraising performance.
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Addressing employee, product and process complaints.
  • Resolving problems.

Required Skills for this Flexographic Printing Shipping-Receiving Supervisor position include the following:


  • This key job requires a highly organized individual with a minimum of two years of experience in Flexographic Production Supervision
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and Associate's degree related to job description requirements
  • 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
