Horizons for Homeless Children (HHC) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality programs and services to homeless children and families throughout the state of Massachusetts. We have three Community Children’s Centers, serving a total of 175 children. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Center Director. Floating teachers are assigned to a classroom as needed and the assignment changes according to the need. HHC is actively seeking to increase the cultural diversity of its workforce. Qualifications:
· AA Degree required, ECE or related field preferred; must be Dept of EEC teacher qualified
· Priority will be given to individuals who have had previous experience working with homeless children and their families
· Candidates will be professional, sensitive, and enthusiastic, and show a commitment to working with homeless families
· Must be flexible and willing to work between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm
· Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Professional Development:
· Maintain current certification in First Aid/CPR
· Attend all HHC Professional development trainings
· Complete 20 workshop hours per year to meet EEC requirements
