Plans and organizes routine and non-routine research and development activities concerned with the chemical, biological and/or physical nature of food in order to evaluate and improve the quality of existing products and related processes and to develop new products and processes

Prepares prototype products using research lab, pilot lab, manufacturing facilities and equipment, as required.

Develops solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity applying technical knowledge and experience.

Sets-up, operates and maintains pilot lab and research lab equipment.

Selects and evaluates raw materials.

Designs and conducts shelf life studies, including product and package performance under various conditions and makes recommendations for appropriate adjustments in product and/or package as required.

Makes presentations of results and recommendations to various groups, both internally and externally.

Works collaboratively with ingredient suppliers and equipment vendors as needed by project activity.

Coordinates and completes small and medium projects or manages segments of larger projects. Defines project objectives, organizing and prioritizing tasks and conducting experiments and analyses.

Maintains accurate, up to date records, laboratory notebooks and computer database that repeatable and reproducible.

Performs measurements and statistical analysis.

Performs related responsibilities, as needed, to support Rich Products Corporation's business objectives.

Ensures the work environment is sanitary, safe, and orderly.

Bachelors Degree in Food Science or related field with a minimum of 2 - 3 years related experience or M.S. in related field and no job related experience.

PC / internet skills (Excel, Word, database, statistical software) and the ability to create spreadsheets, computer analysis, report writing. Proficient with relevant software tools (e.g. Optiva, Accolade, etc.)

Travels regularly (up to 25% of time)
