Purpose of Job
Launch new products and improve existing products through new product development process.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Project management for new products
- Bench top formulation
- Pilot plant trials to determine feasibility
- Develop bill of materials reports and generate COGS
- Assist with development of production procedures
- Create product specifications and maintain product specification database
- Create product labels
Product Improvements
- Assist in improvement of efficiency with existing products
- Assist in product quality improvement projects
- Evaluate alternate suppliers in regards to products
Packaging Initiatives
- Evaluate alternate packaging structures
- Generate alternate merchandising unit
Sensory Testing
- Perform testing on new and existing products using appropriate methods and analysis.
- Perform shelf life testing to validate shelf life
Sales & Marketing
- Assist with package design prototypes and sales samples of new products.
- Maintain store bin label database and print labels as requested.
Clean and maintain laboratory equipment
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in science related field
1-2 years experience in quality role with a food company
Proficient computer skills
Proficient communication skills
