Job Description:

 

Location:                   Irvine CA

Reports to:              Manager, Supply Chain

Direct Reports         None

 

The Forecast/Business Analyst is responsible for monthly SKU level forecasting, sales trends, and inventory analysis.  Their core competency is to provide accurate, reliable, and consistent data.  The analyst’s role is to provide reports required to support the departments’ objectives and strategies.  They will use multiple external and internal sources of information that will combine to provide insight and trends in key areas to manage our business.  They will prepare detailed SKU level forecast, track and identify trends and behavior for inventory levels, movement, obsolescence, excess, and market prices.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

      Prepare the monthly SKU level forecast for all the relevant functional areas in support of financial revenue forecasts, marketing programs and supply chain purchase plans.

      Reconcile SKU forecast variances and understand / explain points of variance.

      Conduct ongoing forecast analysis to ensure that best forecast methods and tools are employed to create increasingly accurate forecasts.

      Monitor weekly sales by Family/SKU and report on trends and recommend forecast adjustments.

      Work closely with Marketing to determine inventory impact of upcoming promotions and holiday inventory planning. 

      Analyze excess and obsolescence (E&O) to determine exposure and disposition on responsible product line. 

      Develop optimum safety stock levels for finished goods and key components.

      Prepare ad-hoc analyses and reports in support of key internal customers.

      Responsible for gathering data for the Sales and Operations Planning(S&OP) meeting.

      Develop an employee and vendor scorecard of metrics and incorporate industry performance benchmarks to objectively measure performance.

 

Qualifications:

 

      Minimum 4 years business analysis and forecasting.

      Experience in global and domestic materials management, supply chain, and product development environment.

      Experience in a fast-growing consumer products company a plus.

      Familiarity with Oracle, MS Excel and Access, and MRP systems is a plus.

      CPM, CPIM and/or APICS a plus.

      Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.

      Excellent oral and written communication skills.

      Literacy in a Top Tier ERP Software.

      Advanced abilities in MS Excel.

      Must have excellent analytical ability.

      Excellent communication skills through graphic presentation and data analysis.

      Strong attention to detail.

      Must have strong project management experience.

      Must have strong knowledge of accounting terms and principles.

      Must have experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environment with a basic knowledge of materials management and supply chain.

      Strong team orientation.

      Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

      Must have experience in forecasting and analyzing sales trends.

     Experience in running S&OP meetings and presenting data.
