Forklift Operator
Position Purpose: The individual supports the forming process team in accordance with all company policies and standards with an emphasis on safety. The individual will operate mobile lifting equipment and stand in at various positions when needed. The main focus of the individual will be to remove the finished product from the bundler table, transfer, and inventory the product. Also, load trucks with finished products in accordance with customers’ requirements. Additional equipment will operate and support in the Scrap and Scrap Bay area and the Liquid area. -wear proper PPE at all times -maintain a clean and safe work area according to housekeeping standards -work safely to prevent on the job injuries -assist and remove bundles from the bundling tables using chains and the forklift -transport and stack the bundles -set up dunnage for the bundles -print tags -tag bundles using a tagging gun -maintain tagging equipment -enter bundle inventory into the SAP system -remove bundle inventory from the SAP system -adjust piece counts of the bundles -perform tagging edits as necessary -place finished bundles on trucks for shipments -scan the tags on trucks for the completion of shipping documents Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: -basic computer skills -work on a rotating shift which may include weekends and holidays -some overtime will be required -must be able to lift 50lbs -ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills -must be able to learn quickly and multitask -ability to work in extreme heat -operate mobile lifting equipment Essential Functions
